Unlock Consistency

"Success is the result of small, smart choices, completed consistently over time" - Darren Hardy

They keys are small, smart, and consistent. Lets unpack that:

1.) Small - “You'll never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine" - John C Maxwell Hint-hint: Action must be small then!

2.) S.M.A.R.T. - Specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time bound.

Example of a vague goal: “I want to get healthier.”
SMART version: “I will walk 30 minutes after work, 5 days per week, for the next 3 months to improve my stamina and lose atleast 5 pounds”

3.) Consistency - “Little strokes, fell great oaks.” - Benjamin Franklin

If you create a plan, take iterative action, and you don’t quit what can’t you achieve?

I have royally messed this up many times in my own journey yet these three things are what’s required. I’ve found that if I violate the requirements I don’t unlock consistency aka success.

The. rules. to. the. game. are. found. in. the SMART goal!

How are you supposed to play any game without knowing the rules?! That’s what you’re asking yourself to do when you set “dumb” goals.

“I want to get healthier” okay… How? When? Where? Where? Who? with What?

#1 You must be specific ! - “You’re not lazy, You lack clarity” - Andre Koome

Write it DOWN and put it somewhere you will see it everyday! Use chatGPT, you don’t even have to use your brain anymore.

#2 Have a reason. People can do amazing things when lives are on the line especially for family. Why? because they care. If you don’t care, you won’t perform. Tie your goal to something that effects something you deeply care about.

-Living a meaningful life without regret

-Realizing your potential

-Providing for your family

-Ending the suffering your family faces financially or emotionally

-Being the example for others

-Help others end their suffering

-Because you can!

-Because life would be SO much better.

-Because life is short!

Who knows, pick/ find one that resonates to your core!

#3 BEST TIP - “If you don’t enjoy it, your goals are wrong” - Scooby Werkstatt - He argues that most insane success is not some sheer focus, drive or display of willpower. People have found something they enjoy and they just don’t stop doing it.

Therefore, If you are able to find “a thing” that you love doing then you can go on and on and on forever. Tie that to a goal you have BOOM done, you’re set.

Say you needed to eat broccoli to cure this rare cancer you had, but you hate broccoli. Say you also loved honey. I bet you could eat some fried broccoli with honey drizzled all over it! It might be weird but it works!

Real life example: Some people love watching Netflix, reading books, working, yet they really want to lose belly fat but can’t find the time. Solution: DO IT WHILE YOU’RE ON THE TREADMILL. Easier said than done but you get what I’m saying. Get creative and make your tiny habit something you love and don’t have to think about.

Other people don’t realize the power of the compound effect when you are consistent. It truly is the 8th wonder of the world. I highly recommend reading “The Compound Effect” by Darren Hardy.
