Simple Nutrition: Avoid FAKE food.

#1, My personal goal with food is that it contributes to my health goal of Vitality! (aka Strong, Active, and UNLIMITED energy).

#2, it must be simple. It cannot have tons of ingredients I’m talking 5 max, ideally ONE.

A ‘no’ list makes things simple. I say no to things that make me feel terrible

No (90% of the time):

Dairy

Sugar

Processed foods (Especially from a bag or box)

Alcohol

Soda

Gluten

Super Spicy

Even protein powders and most supplements.

-Most food in America, to me, is FAKE. It has all kinds of fillers, preservatives, chemicals, dyes, etc. that your body has to process out. We wonder why we get inflamed.

- If I can’t point to where it came from like a carrot for example or say one word to describe it, I don’t want it! One ingredient = REAL food.

-I pay attention to how every meal makes me feel after I eat it and one of those most annoying things for me is brain fog or just feeling super tired or bloated. My energy is precious and I can’t do anything without it.

Yes:

Filtered Water

Vegetables

Fruits

Meat

Eggs

Fish/ Seafood

1 ingredient plant based foods (Beans, rice, oats, quinoa, legumes, lettuces, roots, herbs, etc.)

Sour dough bread

Kombucha

Dark chocolate

Butter

EVOO

I love a bacon, egg and cheese!

A multivitamin is the only thing I’ll take and I’m not super consistent with it.

I try to keep it simple and I never seem to get tired of the Yes’s whereas the no’s make me feel horrible or they seem to induce binge eating, cravings, and more hunger. AKA less energy and more body fat!

Eat to nourish folks! Most people in America are dying due to over-eating we have high obesity rates, heart disease, and diabetes. When have you heard of someone dying from starvation? I hear the crickets too…

I stick to brunches and early dinners.

As always, everything in moderation! Have fun every once in awhile life is short, but don’t get carried away. Great advice: Never skip drinks or dessert with good people! They bring great memories!

I’ll leave you with some quotes to ponder!

"Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food." ― Hippocrates

"To lengthen thy Life, lessen thy Meals" — Benjamin Franklin

"A full Belly makes a dull brain" — Benjamin Franklin

"Eat few suppers, and you'll need few medicines” — Benjamin Franklin
